Los Carpinteros’ ‘Irreversible’ at Sean Kelly Gallery

Now is your chance to see the latest work of Cuban collective Los Carpinteros, as their show ‘Irreversible’ is currently on view at Chelsea’s Sean Kelly Gallery. We first reported on the group following last year’s Armory Show, since then it looks like they have elevated their glossy and politically-charged work (mostly sculptures of wood) to bear its gritty side. With blogs all over the internet buzzing over the duo, this three gallery installation mixes medias (sculpture, film) to tell the artists’ take on revolution. Highlights include recreated Cold War monuments created entirely from – everyone’s favorite – Lego bricks.

On view through June 22
