Limi Feu S/S 2012

As the daughter of Yohji Yamamoto, Limi Feu—the designer’s assumed name—can’t help but be compared to her famous father. Asymmetry, dark colors, and layering just seem to run in the family. But with a notable rebel and rock style about her, the younger Yamamoto delivers her most daring collection to date. Starting with an invitation that included star-shaped pasties, the designer continued to push the envelope on the runway, adding flashes of bright color to her usual monochromatic palette, and bringing together the best of Japan’s Harajuku and minimalist styles in one collection.

Limi’s looks included perfectly draped one-button jackets, dual-tone ensembles, a dissected blue French schoolgirl uniform, and sharp black and white outfits with cute contrast detailing and perfectly placed pockets. And always a stickler for details, Limi also styled the models with miss-matched socks, fresh from the box Chucks, a strong red lip, and twisted pompadour.
