As guests arrived at their seats for the Lacoste show, they had the opportunity to peruse images from the iconic houses’ archives. With this intro, Felipe Oliveira Baptista introduced the Spring/Summer ’14 collection, making it clear that the label is as forward thinking as its legacy suggests, and again one of our favorites in New York. He offered a sporty, slightly 70s show of streamlined tennis basics for on and off the court, utilizing materials such as cotton pique, suede, and latex. After imbuing a tech savvy, the muted court color palette and adapted silhouettes brought me back to timelessness the house has offered since its 1930s beginnings. I could wear Lacoste everyday and not get bored!
