La Muna Residence By Oppenheim Architecture & Design

For those of you not familiar with wabi sabi, it is a Japanese design philosophy focused on the nature of impermanence and imperfection. A stellar example of wabi sabi, we are loving this renovation of one of Aspen’s original rustic ski chalets, La Muna, in the ultraexclusive enclave of Red Mountain. Oppenheim Architecture & Design have utilized reclaimed regional wood, stone and steel to camouflage the property with its breathtaking surroundings of the majestic Colorado mountains and forest, all while making minimal impact on the natural resources. Insulated glass blurs the boundaries between inside and out, and solar connectors provide energy for power and hot water.
