La Foret Noire Restaurant In Chaponost [France]

La Foret Noire restaurant in Chaponost, France reflects modern elegance with a historic touch. Founded by Isabelle and Charles Darnault, it was designed by Claude Cartier, a novice whose first project turned out to be a chic brasserie inspired by the black forest cake. Mixing darker surfaces – floral wallpapers, pieces of concrete, alongside black and white tiles, heavier elements were balanced with light furnishings – wooden chair, plush, velvet sofas, geometric carpets and gold, brass lamps.

The interior, although contemporary, carries a 70’s vibe. There are plenty of mirrors enlarging the space and big-size plants hidden between the tables, giving a boudoir feel to the seating. Photographed by Studio Erick Saillet & Guillaume Grasset.
