Jo studied illustration at Central St. Martins, after graduation followed a stint at Hasbro (toy manufacturers) where she began drawing Sindy for Marvel comic. Self taught with photoshop & Illustrator, she developed her very unique style: never two job look the same !
Her work, including set design and typography as well as illustration, has been featured internationally in magazines such as Vogue Nippon, British Vogue, Dazed and Confused, Wallpaper, Another Magazine, Nylon and GQ amongst other. She also have collaborated with a number of pretty big photographers including Nick Knight.
“I don’t really like creating illustration with a narrative,” says Jo. “I like iconic images. I’m interested in design, and typographic illustration allows me to include drawings of women – or whatever I want – without needing to describe or say something.”
