If you’ve never heard of Jay Dee aka Jay Dilla, this track might give you a little taste of what Hip Hop would call the ‘Raw Shit’. James Dewitt Yancey (February 7, 1974 – February 10, 2006; RIP), the man behind the beat of this ill symphony is widely regarded to as “one of the music industry’s most influential hip hop artists”. It still amazes me when I bring up the name in conversation how many people have no recollection of Jay and his musical genius. An inspiration to myself and most anyone who relishes the art of hip hop, he was most notably known for his production, working with numerous artists such as, A Tribe Called Quest, De La Soul, Busta Rhymes, Mos Def, Common, and The Pharcyde. This particular track is the collaboration of Jay Dilla and Madlib, together known as Jaylib. Talib Kweli comes through and delivers the message as usual with his true style and finesse. All I have to say is these modern “rap” artists need to take some notes from the old school, rawness, and help hip hip out of this current recession.

beautiful work! posters for posterity!2
I like it. And it grabbed your attention esp. if you posted a comment below. whether you love it or hate I don't see anything where it promotes violence or degrading women.. what i see is government taking away the rights of a citizen n the rights away from people. Failure to follow instructions will land us in prison like the model. Now if steven photographed the same concept with average shmucks would we pay much attention to it? i dont think so. it'd be just another political journalistic photograph.3
