Jan-Jan Van Essche’s Project #1 – Proceed

Jan-Jan Van Essche, unlike most designers, designs and produces one full collection a year. Influenced by all the world’s corners, the young Belgian designer encourages annual wardrobes characterized by layers and one’s own adaptation to passing seasons. Blending together Western and ethnic traditions in fashion, loose forms, refined patterns and natural colors stand out in Van Essche’s aesthetic. Following Collections #1,2 and 3, Van Essche presents Project #1, Proceed, a smaller capsule collection to enhance his current body of work. Featuring vivid color blocked patchwork, it looks like Van Essche’s current outlook favors the dark side.
