For the Guggenheim Museum in New York it’s the first time, but surely it’s in good company: James Turrell’s retrospective at the Los Angeles County Museum of Art opened this past 26th of May, while the other two exhibitions in honor of the 70th birthday of the great Californian artist are coming soon, in Houston on June 9th, and at the Guggenheim June 21st.
The New York installation is a site-specific project for the central void space of the museum, and we only can imagine through the renderings released.
