“We played around with the idea of installing large doors between them,” Van Lamsweerde recalls. “We thought about Afghani doors and then glass doors, but the concept was a dead end. Basically the two apartments were banal white cubes with bamboo floors, and we wanted to make them into something coherent—anything but another white cube.”
One of our favorite fashion photographer duos, Inez and Vinoodh had their beautiful 3400 Sqft Lower East Side Loft featured in Architectural Digest. Brooklyn based Simrel Achenbach of Descience Laboratories, in collaboration with designer Daniel Sachs of Sachs Lindores, combined adjacent lofts to create this Manhattan residence for the photographers duo and their son, Charles.
