Day after day our habits change and one of the most recent modifications in the way we live in the city is the increasingly popular use of the bicycles. But Suppose Design Studio created an entire complex dedicated to bicycles and their respective users.
The project went through the transformation of a seaside warehouse in Onomichi (Hiroshima) into a bikes specialized center and a hotel, the Hotel Cycle, coinciding in the Onomichi U2 complex. The space also includes a restaurant and different shops – all sharing the common thread of the cycling world.
The atmosphere filled by naked concrete walls that contrast with the wood, steel and mortar that incorporate some traditional elements of the Onomichi houses. The repurposed complex, with the industrial environment that still gives a nod to the history of the space, fits perfectly with the location and its needs.
