Any camera aficionado will tell you, when it comes to top of the line cameras, Hasselblad ranks as one of the best. In 1962, astronaut Walter Schirra took the first Hasselblad camera into space, and last year, to celebrate 50 years of outer space imaging, the Swedish camera maker introduced the Lunar, a compact system camera for photo lovers on Earth.

With a hand crafted, evocative look and feel, it’s a work of camera art, both aesthetically and ergonomically beautiful. It is offered in an array of color options, and addition to it’s vintage styled looks, it’s got a number of up-to-date features, including a 23.5mm x 15.6mm APS-C format CMOS 24MP sensor and a 18-55 zoom lens. Other features include a 3-inch LCD screen with 920k-dot resolution, which tilts upwards and downwards, an electric viewfinder with a 3,359k-dot resolution, mini USB and HDMI ports, an ISO range of 100-16,000, and the option to record AVCHD video at a resolution of 1920×1080. Hasselblad starting shipping the model this past summer, which retails for around $7,000.
