French designer Gomar, whose real name Margot Thiery, is one of those who keeps pushing the limits of materials and her design range is exceptionally wide and flexible.
A graduate from the Design Academy Eindhoven in conceptual and product design, she has gained experience at Buitink Technology in Arnhem, Atelier Clouet in Paris and SO-IL in Brooklyn, New York.
Gomar is intrigued of the balance between materiality, colors and textures and likes to combine natural and synthetic colored materials, which is obvious in many of her projects like “The Tablecloth”, a nude substance made of silicone and wood. The colorful series “Nomades” is a ceramic and rubber tableware collection describing the freedom of nomades food rituals, and “Echangisme” a range of interchangeable parts that form glasses.
