· FW 2012 · Giles Deacon F/W 2012 BY Amanda Jakubik / Mar 12 12 @ 12:08 PM
Tactility was an essential part of the Giles Deacon F/W 2012 collection with crisp cottons blending with velvet, feathers and sheers. Again we saw the edge taken off bold designs with use of soft cuts and full skirts. A feature of many designs this F/W has been jaw skimming necklines and this collection continues the pattern with almost every piece featuring this modest line. Ankle skimming skirts are carefully pin-tucked to the waist creating balloons of volume whist shirts were buttoned to the neck and kept formal. Prints were either simple and uniform or designs were cut into the fabric and printed with one particular design giving the impression of delicate fabrics being burnt to reveal translucent layers beneath.
