Giambattista Valli Spring 2013 Couture

Times are tough.  The Valli girl is tougher, and capped with a crown of flowers.  For his fourth namesake couture collection in Paris, Giambattista Valli is ever a Roman.  His sublime meditation on the alta moda this season featured sculptural hourglass silhouettes, restrained animal prints, wasp waisted dresses in layers of tulle, and soft shades of pink.  My personal favorite dress-pants combo was featured more than a few times, reiterating that the modern day romance of couture is its fine blend of power dressing and cool nonchalance.
