You could say Wendy Van Santen’s photography is adorably quirky, possibly sassy, and maybe even reminiscent of bubble gum pop. What’s certain is its experimental imagination. Jelly beans in a string bean? Sour belts in a leek? Chicken eggs in a petri dish? They’re far from ordinary, but don’t look as offbeat as they sound in her photography.
In fact, they’re brilliant. Everything from the composition, to the color arrangements, and angles calls for clever thinking which is evidently right up Van Santen’s alley. It just goes to show that the ordinary can transform into the extraordinary with a little creativity and originality. Sprinkles and broccoli, anyone?
