In the recent past, Australians have time and again displayed a remarkable creativity in their work. No surprise that fine art photographer, Gerwyn Davies, fits this Aussie status quo. Gerwyn’s work is a photo documentation of crafted sets, sculpture and installation that he creates and art directs himself. His 2010, photo series, “Or How I learned to Stop Worrying,” of roughly sewn material, constructed in a way that reminds us of the arts and crafts classes we took in school, only serves to emphasize the violence and sexuality in an even more disturbing manner.
