It’s no surprise that we love minimalism and black and white graphics at Trendland. Renowned contemporary French artist François Morellet incorporates both into his visually captivating body of work. Stemming from a background in conceptual art, Morellet uses various media, from tape to lights, to create minimalist compositions and artworks that have a huge graphic impact. Some of his recent works, involving his trademark neon tube lights, almost border on optical illusion. Morellet’s work is part of the collection at the Museum of Modern Art, and he currently has an exhibition titled NO END NEON at the Kayne Griffin Corcoran Gallery in LA.
