Florian Schmid Concrete Stitching
The challenge was to get into the material and bring it from its rawness to something new.
Approaching trough patterns, origami and stitching a unique series of stools got born. Waterproof, fireproof, resistant against UV, durable. The fiber reinforcement makes it strong and the cloth gives back a warm atmosphere.

After discovering the concrete design by Shnmuel Linksi, here is Stitching Concrete, a project by industrial design graduate Florian Schmid. Using the new material Concrete Canvas, it combines the softness of cloth with the stability of concrete to make these beautiful stools.
Once brought in the final shape, you just have to water the material and within 24h it will almost harden out completely.

Are you serious? I'm usually a fan of the stuff you put up here, but just cause she's a friend of Trendland doesn't mean you have to be completely uncritical about this commercial. The objectification of the woman, and also the patronizing of the men, is so sad to me.. it's like a commercial from the 50's?? For Samsung to promote a Smart TV with such a medieval view on gender roles.. I guess the only smart thing about this really is the TV..8
