Exploring the uniform aesthetic, Portuguese designer Felipe Oliveira Baptista’s Spring/Summer 2014 collection, however meticulous in its construction, was meant for movement and life. Traditional shirtdress and jumpsuit silhouettes felt open and fluid, belonging as much on the Saharan landscape as the European street scene. Clearly inspired by the caftan, kimono-cut sleeves and architectural lines reduce softness to a minimum. With a monochromatic palette of olive, khaki and Majorelle blue the collection is both timeless and practical.
