MARNI : MILAN SS 2011
Consuelo Castiglioni is a sportswear genius! I was so happy with the range in Marni’s SS 2011 Collection. The collection was full of playful elements layered on top of each other with no fear. Her seaming and paneling gave the collection an abstracted notion of scuba-wear. The Marni women is definitely sophisticated but she values [...]

Salvatore Ferragamo : Milan SS 2011
Massimiliano Giornetti brought some Spicy Bohemia to Milan’s runway presentations with his fresh approach to womenswear for SS 2010. Giornetti has been working on the men’s range for Ferragamo for the last decade, but this is only his second season as creative director of the Salvatore Ferragamo house, and so far things are looking very [...]

AQUILANO E RIMONDI : MILAN SS 2011
I was a huge fan of Aquilano e Rimondi’s Collection for SS 2011 during Milan Fashion Week. The collection was bursting with key ingredients for spring. There was color, complex prints, flowing fabrics but also more tailored and constricted silhouettes. The collection had the 70′s laid back vibe with the 40′s conservative glamour. The combination [...]

Manish Arora : Paris SS 2011
Lights on, drum and bass starts the show. Bright colors as usual, Manish Arora presents his magical SS 2011 collection inspired by the Baroque period. Severe futuristic lines create an interesting illusion of “Futuristic Baroque”, a decadence and a promise of a glimpse into the future as Manish sees it.

JIL SANDER : MILAN SS 2011
For as long as I have followed fashion Jil Sander has been a staple in setting the standard in my eyes. This SS 2011 Raf Simmons continues the houses legacy of pure, minimal but highly inspired forward fashion. There was nothing conservative about Simmon’s palette, “A mille-feuille of color,” as he best stated it. The [...]

James Long LFW S/S 2011 Collection
I’m loving pretty much every single piece, throughout designer James Long’s SS 2011 Collection. Long brings out splash paint and knits with a beautiful color palette. I wish we could buy some cool designer pieces like this in the US, but unfortunately it’s only in UK and Japan!

HOLLY FULTON : LONDON SS 2011
Sixties/Art Deco style continues to be the guiding light throughout Holly Fulton’s SS 2011 Collection.  Tribal motifs disguised in sky-scrapping architecture consume the garments appearance, and remaining as graphic and bold as ever. Here is a great little video for Test Magazine directed by Quentin Jones featuring Holly Fulton’s SS 2011 Collection .

If you have been following you have already had some London Fashion Week Highlights, but here is the rest of the best for SS 2011 from London. Peter Pilotto : London SS 2011
Beautiful and original prints distinctively wrapped and draped have become the expectation for the shinning star Peter Pilotto’s brand over the last few seasons, and his delivery always meets the expectation. His collections are beaming with modernity and provide great prospective for fashion to come.
