Mary Katrantzou F/W 2012
Mary Katrantzou F/W 2012 collection was by far one of the most varied and visually dynamic collections of London Fashion Week. It’s not only about the initial ‘bang’ of the prints but the details you find on your second, third and fourth glances. Each and every piece appears to have endless layers, tapering and unique [...]

Ter Et Bantine F/W 2012
Manuela Arcari is the designer behind Ter et Bantine, an Italian brand which has had a presence of over 20 years. Her aesthetic is anti-uniform, dark and structured, extremely well constructed  and she is very consistent. If you prefer armour like clothing with a serious backbone and extremely luxurious fabric, this is your brand. My [...]

Christopher Kane F/W 2012
Christopher Kane’s F/W 2012 collection discharged quite a morbid energy. It was the combination of the palette and the exaggerated black leather piping that gave this dark edge. The highlight of the collection were definitely the printed dresses with the leather pipping.

Burberry Prorsum F/W 2012
I am a big Christopher Bailey fan. He always finds a way to spice up the Burberry Prorsum collection while continuing the outerwear legacy. The F/W 2012 collection was less exciting to me than usual but there were some great details going and all of it felt very wearable. The showstopper was the voluminous, velvet-quilted [...]

Trussardi F/W 2012
Trussardi, the Italian leather goods company which celebrated its 100th birthday last year, is all about strong tailoring.  Umit Benan, in a follow up to his debut collection as Creative Director, offered monochromatic suiting in grey, rust, orange, black and cream.  Varying textures were layered on: collared shirts and wool ribbed sweaters came under jackets, [...]

Basso and Brooke F/W 2012
Basso and Brooke are known for their prints. For their F/W 2012 collection the duo balanced collaged geometric prints with a less abrasive silhouette. Despite what you may think at first glance, over-sized jackets and shirts gave the collection the collective cool it needed to make these looks street smart and extremely wearable. Geometric prints, [...]

Jil Sander F/W 2012
R af Simons last collection for Jil Sander was perhaps the seasons loveliest, most serene, wearable and engaging collection. It was filled with long life pieces, those that will be handed down to daughters and grand daughters, it’s longevity is evident in it’s classic silhouettes, 1950′s haute couture inspired, designed with lack of trend and [...]

McQ F/W 2012
Personally I have never really been a huge fan of McQ. It has always been a bit too kitsch and young for my taste, and until now, I never felt that Alexander McQueen’s magic really transcended into their diffusion line. This F/W 2012 collection set a whole new tone for McQ. The collection was as [...]

Acne F/W 2012
Confused, surprised, and extremely curious were just a few of the emotions that surfaced as I began to review the Acne F/W 2012 collection. I had to do a fact check and make sure I did not miss a major replacement in the house, but Jonny Johansson was right in his place, only stepping into [...]

Topshop Unique F/W 2012
Topshop’s biggest coup d’état so far was in hiring veteran British stylist Kate Phelan last year as Creative Director. Her keen eye for wearable, edgy, cool separates made for a collection that will be seen in the streets of every major city next fall. Khaki military coats over hip slung skirts, over-sized shirts and vests [...]
