Re Rag Rug is a design project from Stockholm focused on the ecological and social dimensions of handmade rugs. Rather than starting from scratch, they use excess remnants of fabric from the textile industry, creating 12 unique rugs during 12 months using 12 different techniques. They explore the value of objects and the importance of design in manufacturing and recycling processes by using only textile industry off-cuts or t-shirts and sweaters, destined to be thrown away. They now have 12 prototypes being exhibited around the world.
