Stable, forge and railway station: the house La Micheline in Wallonia, Belgium is an architectural jem. Recently photographers Anne and Jean-Luc Laloux converted the building and transformed it into the country home of our dreams. Only a part of the exterior walls and the floor upstairs have been preserved; everything else has been rebuilt and forms – with all its modernity – a harmonious unit with the old structures. Natural materials – blue stone, concrete, rough sawn wood and metal – give the rooms a unique and warm atmosphere, supported by furniture in rustic industrial look and designer pieces.
The house is surrounded by pastures and forests and can accommodate 9 people. Exceptional are the genuine train tracks and the old brick oven.
