Even the most ancient handicraft such as embroidery shows room for innovation.
Artist Ana Teresa Barboza, born in Perú, creates embroidered nature landscapes made of yarn and wool which spill out of their traditional wooden frames. The works imitate the fluid looks of waves and growing grass through the color palette which give them slightly a 3D-effect.
Barboza’s work is an example to the movement of extracting the art into the gallery space, called the pop-up generation, which we have seen for the last years.
