El Guincho, the Spaniard rock ‘n’ roller (aka Pablo Díaz-Reix), has successfully created a refreshing summer-like feel that doesn’t feel misplaced in the dead of winter (f0r those of us in seasoned cities–LA, you don’t count). It’s a party in your stereo, or any of your mediums for rocking out. His 4th album, Pop Negro, is titled to represent its afro-beat groove and has kept fans waiting for more to come since its 2010 release. Despite its novelty, I chose to feature “Palmitos Park,” a former single, which grasped my attention more so than the more recent albums. It just seems to have that right amount of jungle fever. If you’re lucky enough to be in the right place at the right time, check out a live show in the one or more of these four cities: Brooklyn, Mexico City, Barcelona (El Guincho’s hometown), and Sesimbra, Portugal! Enjoy!
Be sure to check out El Guincho’s music video, “Bombay” from a few months back right here at Trendland.
Ay Dios Mio! Did you say you want to dance? Well, here yah go. I had to bring this one to the Trendland table, although this single was released in 2008. I fear I must defend this song choice for all you time sensitive sticklers out there (no judgment, I’m one of you). I know, it’s so 3 years ago…but perhaps it’s new to some of you?

beautiful work! posters for posterity!2
I like it. And it grabbed your attention esp. if you posted a comment below. whether you love it or hate I don't see anything where it promotes violence or degrading women.. what i see is government taking away the rights of a citizen n the rights away from people. Failure to follow instructions will land us in prison like the model. Now if steven photographed the same concept with average shmucks would we pay much attention to it? i dont think so. it'd be just another political journalistic photograph.3
