Dior Homme S/S 2014

For Spring/Summer 2014, Dior Homme Creative Director Kris Van Assche stated that he wanted to explore the idea of ‘minimal baroque’, offering “choice, chance and lightness.” A quote from 16th century poet Thomas Campion inspired the designer: “The sun must have his shade.”  The impeccable suiting and sportswear came with several iterations of patchwork color blocking, in a muted palette both softly elegant and simultaneously elevating. It is exciting to watch Van Assche carve his legacy at Dior Homme, and front row attendees like Karl Lagerfeld must certainly agree.
