“Decay & Decadence” Digital Editorial by Cristine Leone & Melissa Carew exclusively for Trendland. This dark ,moody, avant-garde tale nods to 1930′s surrealist movies and 1980s hammer horror production. Using the Chapel as a backdrop we explore the relationship between decay and decadence.

    I don’t mean to be negative, but this shoot was ugly. From feigned distress to plump legs, bad lighting, feigned leaning, hokey antlers, pained portrait, more dumb antlers, more pain, the hardship of donning a hat; so much more could have been done. No compositional sense and no sense of the medium, which is about light. I felt the photographer knew only about the related colors of sky blue and grays, browns, etc. Drap and dumb, in general. To me it was true that this series was about decadence and decay, the kind of spoiled rotten artist in a run down venue. There is nothing uglier than someone who tries to portray a hard life through the window of a Rolls Royce.
