David Poppie’s Obsessions

Artist David Poppie seems to find inspiration in the little things. His recent work involves the reclaiming disposable objects in mass to create two and three dimensional works. Pieces can involve tea bags, matchbook strikes, plastic cutlery, etc. Fascinated by objects that are generally disregarded and ignored by the everyday people, Poppie collects the discards of contemporary culture and ask the viewer to reconsider the function and value of these objects. His works are meticulous puzzled groupings which generally create some kind of geometric space.
