Photographer David Maisel’s Terminal Mirage series is a project that was shot over a decade to document what he called a “new topography”. In the series Maisel capture environmental degradations in which he looks for metaphors. ” There is a kind of poisoning going on here that somehow, I think, corresponds to something inside of us,” he says. It’s hard to believe that these beautiful images are actually a depiction of ecosystems under pressure.
