Cushnie et Ochs S/S 2013

Michelle Ochs, half of design duo Cushnie et Ochs is half Philippine, so this season they used the islands as reference, color (note the splashes of turquoise, midnight blue amongst the mostly white and black collection) and the traditional embroidery  being the main vehicles . Also, this was their first attempt at swimwear, I might add quite successful if you don’t mind awkward tan lines, sending 2 bikini’s down the runway one of which is featured below. Known for their tailoring and sculptural cut out pieces, these dresses, long and lean in silhouette and for the most part very body hugging made for a commercial and sellable collection. The girls showed at MADE for Milk Studios, and from the look on the audience faces, and feedback after the show, you will be seeing many of these pieces on the streets of every major city next spring.
