Designed by Cincopatasalgato Architecture and located in San Salvador, El Salvador, the Costa Azul House is a private residence which embraces open space and enjoys views of the idyllic seaside. Warm and inviting, the residence is a direct reflection of the place it is located in – the sunny seaside of San Salvador.
The home explores the idea of a contemporary beach shack through a perfect mix of various materials; timber cladding, concrete, ceramic tiling and glass. A deep connection with the local environment is created through the seamless integration of the thatched roof which is supported by a raw timber structural framework. A decorative timber wall feature combined with a consistent injection of vibrant yellow adds character and evokes a sense of playfulness. Embracing an open living space allows the residents to enjoy the natural elements of light, shadow and wind.
