Concrete by Elke Kramer and Nicole Rose

“The Plot: A woman summons the mystical powers of the universe to manifest a man, love. Once bound by love, she realizes its confines and the pleasure within this.”

This is the story behind Concrete, the mystical, almost ethereal, theme film just released by director Nicole Rose and jewelry designer Elke Kramer. Not exactly an endeavor you’d expect from someone who’s been in the jewelry game for eight years, art direction is just one of the many talents of Elke (alongside producing her own art and fashion zine, web direction, and illustrations).

Concrete, with film credits going towards a mostly Sydney-based team, is set against the spectacular backdrop of the Sydney Opera House, and premiered as part of the Fashion on Film showcase during Sydney’s Vivid Festival at the Museum of Contemporary Arts last June 6.
