“Last season’s oversized sequins had grown into even bigger circles of chiffon and leather that rippled like scales around the models or created scalloped contours down their bodies to oscillating – and very short – hemlines. Nude, plus orange and pink, saffron and peach, the colours of summer 2009, meant this was steamy as ever – Kane’s women aren’t shy – but body con under-layers meant that the nipples he insisted on showing off this time last year were kept safely under wraps this time around.” – Dolly Jones
Louise Wilson, MA course director at Central Saint Martins, where Kane trained, also gave him full marks: “He’s a professional – he does something different every time and he does it so well,” she said. “So often you see ideas that simply aren’t done well and Chris does it right. I remember when he first bought his graduate collection into the studio – I’ve still got the Polaroids – that was a fashion moment.”
