Christina Ledang’s “Take Three” Collection

CHRISTINA LEDANG TAKE THREE

“Unconventional” could be the word to describe Christina Ledang‘s “Take Three” collection as a picture of 1900 sparked the inspiration behind it. A woman in nothing but her corset and her hands fully covered in tattoos motivated Ledang to create the third part of her collection series. At these times, tattoos were considered as taboo (especially on women) and the contradiction between the proper clothing, which was almost as sacred as a ritual, and the rebellion of the tattooed nudity, was the thrill. “Take Three” consists of designs made out of light, monochromatic fabrics and the transparency of rubber (a material which randomly popped-up in Ledang’s plans) wrapped up minimalistically in shape, just enough to deliver a post-modern version of that one picture.
