Carine Roitfeld leaves French Vogue

One of the biggest news in fashion world, (Trendland’s favorite) editor in chief of French Vogue Carine Roitfled leaves after a decade at the top of the French glossy. The news was announced on Vogue.fr’s site without giving any details, just specified that she decided to devote herself to her personal projects. [UPDATE 12/18/2010 : Insider News]

According to Jonathan Newhouse, President de Condé Nast International, she “marked the history of the Paris Vogue thanks to his incredible talent of wardrobe stylist and editor-in-chief. We will miss her”.

As for Xavier Romatet, president de Condé Nast France, he stated: “I regret the decision of Carine of course, even if I understand her. A page is turned and a new stage starts for this solid, powerful brand and sure her values”

Carine Roitfeld, who was born in 1954, was a model, then wardrobe stylist and collaborated much with the American dressmaker Tom Ford and the photographer Mario Testino, the three having been baptized inventors of the ‘Porno Chic’
