Butch Walker leaves the producer seat for songwriter once again alongside the Black Widows for the release of their 6th album, The Spade now out on Dangerbird Records. After producing hits for Avril Lavigne, Katy Perry, Weezer, Panic! At the Disco and more, the Georgian native roots himself into the pop rock that rules him. Never be fooled by a title. “Synthesizers” is a title fueled by irony which foreshadows lyrics gently mocking a music industry ruled by synthesizers, nepotism, and recycled band names.

Where the song lacks electronic sounds it makes up for in pumping high energy and an underlying “Come On Eileen” identity crisis. Not to mention, a note-worthy throwback video accompaniment featuring Matthew McConaughey as he re-inhabits his character, Wooderson, from the classic 90’s flick “Dazed & Confused.” Enjoy, and most certainly, happy listening!
