Calling his collection ‘The Self Made Gentleman’, today we share with you designer Gianfranco Villegas, and his inspiration: the elegance of Italian culture with the back-drop of the ghetto in the Philippines. Inspired by his origins, he set out to create a collection that challenged art and form. Matching such different cultures alike he unites them in his own way of seeing his vision compared with textures, colours and forms. The collection features a strong masculine and independent feel towards each origin represented. Keeping tones minimalistic leading towards Italian elegance, his cut and precision towards the fabrics used shows us abeautiful approach to the rough side of the Philippines. Prints created from these mood-boards generated a modern garment for the everyday living man.
