This year, Dulux has released ’Antidote: A Colour Cure’ for its 2017 Colour Forecast. To face daily challenges of modern life, the four trends Sentience, Chroma, Entwine and Construct have been imagined by Dulux creative director Bree Leech and interior stylist Heather Nette King, suggesting Australian design professionals to dope their interiors.
Flesh and soothing tones from blushing shades, the Sentience trend relieves from a life overexposed by technological devices. Far away from touch screens, this warm palette invites to decompress through tactile sensations around Dulux Creamy Mushrooms, Wasabi and Center Dust.
Punchy Chroma prescribes saturated colour block and bold characters for an invigorating effect. Deep Arctic and Baby Melon geometric shapes are strewn across an ultra graphic decor, providing a surrealist atmosphere.
Inspired by landscapes from South America to the Middle East, Entwine trend gathered eclectic cultures, blending modern and traditional references. Dress up by Ettore Sottsass style totems and weaving furnitures, the interior benefits from a rich palette, including Fruit Pink and Banana Rama.
And last but not least, Construct unveils a darker side of the treatment, a synoptic composition emphasizing the rawness of industrial materials. Bleak building blocks shape this cubic interior, bewaring of Reckless Grey and Pewter Illusion angles. With this 2017 Dulux colour cure, one caution: risk of relapse.
