Alexander Wang’s SS 13 show was simply stunning. Here is a designer who knows his woman, giving her more options and creative output season after season. There are aspects that seldom vary, like this season's choice of color palette (certainly his mainstay), black, white, taupe and grays. Innovation is clearly his strong point, this season slicing and dicing seams using invisible fish line embroidery to hold it all together brilliantly, effortlessly, or so it seemed. He played with some of his white pieces which, when the lights dimmed turned into shades of yellow day glow; fun and as far as I know, a first. Volume was the other conversation as he deconstructed classic American sportswear , creating pieces that are wearable, modern (yes, he is the designer of the future) and chic. I have to mention the badass boots and shoes, talk about major creative innovation, and the cool modernistic pony tail and tribal make up. Mr. Wang has consistently shown that he is not a one hit wonder but a fashion force to be reckoned with, continually giving us an amazing show, fantastic clothing and faith in the future of fashion.
