The Russian creative team comprised of conceptual artists Tatiana Arzamosova and Lev Evzovich, graphic designer Evgeny Svyatsky and fashion photographer Vladimir Fridkes, known to use mythological and theological imagery in their work, explained to Wallpaper that “Reincarnation” is meant to be a parody on Christmas, and the birth of the child is meant to unveil a new and challenging view on humanity as a whole. Further elaborating on their direction for the film, Evzovich called the piece a ‘union of Calvin Klein and Caravaggio’. The video work is one of the digital art pieces available to buy from s[edition].

In a marriage of high and low, classical and contemporary, this “digital painting” video by Russian collective AES+F, created exclusively for Wallpaper Magazine, is an odd, surrealistic trip through death and rebirth. Stills of the darkly humorous video now grace the Reigning In Russia issue of Wallpaper Magazine.
