New York City based photographer Adam Kremer is an artist with a style that embraces ordinary objects and the subjects that surround him. Having assisted Danish photographers Asger Carlsen and Peter Funch, Kremer’s photography is similarly unreal and candid, while distinctly different in its energy and playfulness. His images with their simple props, understated set design, and unique composition are a refreshing blend of experimentation and artistic expression. Rolls of pastel paper backdrops, washed-out coloring, and harsh lighting complement the surreal mix of cut-outs and digitized layering. Kremer sees the limitations of commissioned work not as a challenge, but an opportunity to push commercial into art.
