For Fall/Winter 2010 Alexandre Herchcovitch went Royal Gypsy on us, and nearly knocked me off my chair with his historical references and meticulously styled headdresses. For his mens AW09 presentation during Sao Paulo fashion week ,Herchcovitch seemed to inspire from the sea. There was definitely somewhat of an underlining nautical reference. He used a lot of poly’s and nylon-like waterproof fabrics, which he applied on more conventional jacket shapes. It was a nice contrast between familiarity and experimentation…
Just about to hit stores are the two collaborations that Melissa did with Hometown designer, Alexandre Herchcovitch, and Vivennne Westwood. I have always been kind of on the line with Melissa shoes. I like the concept but I’m very particular about shoes and have never considered buying a pair till now.
