Preen presented a very feminine collection for their F/W 2012 show. The collection portrayed a kind of urban romance you could imagine, the professional working woman who is not afraid to show her soft side, wearing. It was the contrast of floral print and geometric color blocks that gave it the extra edge to make […]
Enter Thom Browne’s world of fantasy, one unlike any other in fashion today. A world re-imagined each season in such detail that you can not help but wonder how he spends his free time. For his F/W 2012 show the models rose from coffins reanimated by their love of fashion. Playing with anatomic modification was […]
I just came across this collection of bags by a new brand called Building Block. Sisters Kimberly and Nancy Wu created this minimalistic collection of leather bags called “Black” based on the concept of returning back to square one. Using leather, rubber and wood they have these beautiful silhouettes

London based still life photographer Edward Johns likes to explore simple ideas focusing on texture, shape and form of objects and spaces. In his portfolio you can see great examples of this as well as his ability to capture and isolate light in a really special way, creating an illusion that his subject is glowing,
Another great lookbook for Ellery’s F/W 2012 collection. I am absolutely loving everything about this collection and theses images. The neutral palette with that almost Tiffany (sheen) blue as a pop color and the elongated silhouettes create an almost regal sentiment. Look at those extreme frontal slits!
As we start to anticipated Spring this vibrant editorial inspires a positively colorful palette. Charlotte Carey photographed by Andrew Yee and styled by Damian Foxe, with set design by Aaron Johnson for Financial Times’ How To Spend It Magazine.
“..you will never live like common people, you will never do what common people do”, but that’s not the case for Nikos Rakkas’s Playmobiles in his photography series “Common People (Like You)”. Those little plastic people are photographed in everyday life places, creating scenarios beyond reality and awakening childhood memories in favor of an optical escape.
Listen to “Sonic Armada” Here BUY HERE The day science met sex-appeal was when French musical prodigies gave birth to Le Voyage Dans La Lune. A trip to the moon literally emerges from this latest album, inspired by French film extraordinaire and illusionist Georges Méliès. As Nicolas Godin and Jean-Benoît Dunckel (Air) landscape the twisted story of a silent […]
From in front of the camera, to behind the camera: that was the route for still-life and fashion photographer Henry Hargreaves. Having posed for numerous fashion houses as YSL, Prada and Jil Sander, four years ago Hargreaves decided to turn his career around. With a great range of work to his credit, he managed to make […]
Artist Emily Barletta’s makes her marks using a needle. Her meticulously embroidered thread on paper works remind us that there is beauty in repetition. I am certain the embroidering process of these works is a kind of meditation for her, I only wonder what she is thinking about when creating these graphic representations. What looks […]
“It’s this idea of modern-day superheroes who are walking around us every day,” Phillip Lim said after his F/W 2012 show. But as any great designer the inspiration is really in the subtleties. It is not about reproducing a visual that already exists, but rather using it as a starting point to discover a new […]

Written by Guest Blogger Michele llanos The illusive and highly coveted label, Ostwald Helgason’s presentation last week showcased yet another collection where art, technology, history and textile experimentation combine to create a very specific end result. The narrative came from the Terra Nova expedition where Norway and Britain raced to Antarctica in the 19th century. […]
Written by Guest Blogger Michele llanos Upon entering Dean Quinn’s F/W 2-12 presentation at Milk Studio, I immediately felt a welcome rush of fresh air blast through my senses. It was as if I had awakened from my winter hybernation in a crisp canvas of shocking, bright brushstrokes saturating Quinn’s clean, modern, silhouettes. Quinn, a […]
The A/W 2012 footwear collection of London based Chi-Lai Yuen was inspired by surrealism with interesting misplacement of texture and materials on platforms, stilettos and flats provoke immediate responses because of its unusual warped and draped leather shapes. Her mojo is “good design is a combination of

S/S 2012 was the first time I ever featured Prabal Gurung, when I highlighted him for his great prints and sexy cut-outs. Until then his work had never really marked me. For his F/W 2012 collection Gurung continues in the same vein, revisiting powerful prints and sheers,
