Lana Del Rey: Video Games

Listen to “Video Games” here

Sometimes a sad song must be sung. And Lana Del Rey (aka Lizzy Grant) sure knows how to look and sound good singing one. If it’s bad form to mention an artist’s physical features before her genuinely heartbroken story of a boy preoccupied with playing videogames, then she should get rid of those bewitching puckers and Brigitte Bardot look. The seductive chanteuse impresses with her low, vintage tone all on a morose melody.

Her heartbreaking memoir, “Video Games” features great lyrics as accidentally moving as Joni Mitchells, with phrases like “pull up in your fast car, whistling my name.”  Without a doubt, we will be seeing Lana again. Unfortunately, her tunes aren’t available until October. For now, enjoy here.
