Lykke Li: Get Some

Looks like it’s going to be an early holiday season with some gifting from Lykke Li, on behalf of Santa and the elves. If you’re a fan, you will most likely be so ready to “Get Some;” if you aren’t, you might want to turn off the radio for the next month or so because everyone else is. For most, the Swedish pop babe is no newcomer to the music scene. And our lovely Trendlandians have seen her original songs and remixes featured here–if not all over the damn place.

Her debut album, Youth Novels is/was completely loved, but it took time for people to catch on to her borderline off-beat style–something she was asked to contribute to the vampire-lovin’ New Moon (2009) soundtrack. Hence, her popular single, “Possibility.”

So, without further ado, here is Li’s newest single, which–like her first stunning record–is also produced by Björn Yttling (Peter Bjorn & John). She has stuck to her quasi-dirty lyrics and sassy-self that got so many hooked. Hope it hits you just right, and if it doesn’t the first time, give it a couple more tries. I promise it’ll grow on you.

P.S. For a more soulful display of Lykke Li, download her to-die-for Shirelles’ cover of “Will You Still Love Me Tomorrow” at her official website.
